Town of Windham taxes are due on October 2, 2023 and April 1, 2024. There is only 1 (one) bill mailed per year with 2 (two) payment vouchers. Bills that are not paid by June 30th are reported in the Town's annual report. The lien process starts the first of July and Liens are filed the first of August. Taxes that are overdue by 18 months after the lien has been placed are foreclosed upon.

The 2023 delinquent tax rate is 8%. The 2023 mil rate is $11.20.  Assessment is at 100%.

Do we have your correct mailing address? Pursuant to Maine law, tax bills are sent to the last owner as of April 1 that tax year. The Assessor's Department bases mailing addresses from the Deeds received from Cumberland County Registry of Deeds.  Often the owner's address on the deed is incorrect as it contains the address prior to moving to the new property. Please be reminded that the post office will only forward mail for one year. It is your responsibility to advise the Town of address changes in writing. If you do not receive your bill at the end of August, please give us a call.
