Community Development Block Grant Program

The Town of Windham participates in the Cumberland County Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG). The CDBG program is federally funded to the county and distributed to various communities and agencies in Cumberland County excluding Portland and Brunswick via an annual grant application and award process.

The Town of Windham was awarded a 2018 planning grant to study potential reuse/development potential of the former South Windham Fire Station and the J Andrews School.

Previously, the towns of Windham and Gorham had received a grant to add streetscaping and some pedestrian improvements along Main Street in the South Windham and Little Falls villages.
